- Comfortable shoes (closed for safari walks and sandals for around the lodge)
- Sun hat, sunscreen, sunglasses and swimming costume
- Warm rain jacket and gloves (depending on season)
- Binoculars and camera, charger and international adapters
- Re-usable or sufficient disposable face masks, biodegradable, washable and reusable fabric is preferred
- There are specific travel requirements for children 18 years and under to enter South Africa, so please ensure you are aware of these and have the original, valid documentation.
Do not use a GPS. Madikwe Game Reserve is easily reached by car or air: A 3.5 hour drive from Johannesburg or a daily scheduled flight from OR Tambo International Airport with Federal Air.

Madikwe Game Reserve boasts an impressive variety of prolific African wildlife and birdlife, including Africa’s Big Five. The reserve is also famous for its weird and wonderful creatures, including African wild dog, cheetah, brown/spotted hyena and black rhino. Yes. Both Jaci’s Tree Lodge and Jaci’s Safari Lodge have free, high speed WiFi in all the main areas, as well as the individual suites.
The closest international airport to Jaci’s Lodges is O.R. Thambo International Airport in Johannesburg, situated 3.5 hours away from Jaci’s Lodges by road. There is also an airstrip inside the reserve 15 minutes away from the lodges accessible by twice-daily flights with Federal Air, allowing you to fly directly into the reserve from O.R. Thambo International Airport.
Yes. We have three exclusive-use villas at Jaci’s Lodges for families and groups that come with a private guide, game viewing vehicle, chef and villa host. For more information about our exclusive-use villas, please see out “Stay” page.
Yes. Over peak season, we have a minimum three night policy.
